Despite the Covid January lockdown blues affecting us all, here’s a chance to “visit” zero carbon house. We’re featuring on Thursday 28 January on ITV at 7:30pm on their flagship current affairs programme “Going Green: Save Money?”

The answer to that question is, of course, a big YES: if our Government said all homes must be zero carbon, then people’s heating bills would drop by 90%, making a huge difference to fuel poverty, new skills and new jobs would be created, carbon emissions would be slashed.

And if we DON’T build to zero carbon standards now, the Government’s own Committee for Climate Change has said it will be five times more expensive to upgrade them later – so that would definitely save money too…

    Good afternoon,

I am a Civil engineering student at the University of Birmingham and I’m currently producing a research project on investigating the barriers preventing zero carbon housing across the UK. I am enquiring into whether it would be possible to view the house especially if there are any open days in the near future and/or hopefully speak to someone regarding the development process and the maintenance of the house. This would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Lewis.
