We are excited to welcome a free travelling exhibition called Letters from the Global South.

Letters from the Global South is a project offered by Zero Hour, IFEES (International Federation of Ecological and Environmental Sciences) and Muslims Declare.

Public viewing

  • Friday 30 June: Al Abbas Islamic Centre, 17 Clifton Rd – Transition Building, Balsall Heath B12 8SX (10 minute walk from zerocarbonhouse) 3-6pm on Friday 30th June
  • Monday 3 July – Friday 7 July: 2.30-4.30pm Al Abbas Islamic Centre, 17 Clifton Rd – Transition Building, Balsall Heath B12 8SX
  • Monday 10 – Friday 14 July: Saheli Hub, corner of Edward Rd and Cheddar Rd – by Calthorpe Park, B12 9LF, and will be open daily for public viewing 12.30-2.30pm

Workshops and school visits

Zero Hour Hour (the Campaign for the Climate and Ecology Bill) is offering to facilitate two workshops on Climate Change in association with the Exhibition. Please note that Workshop places are primarily for people who have not previously been interested in exploring environmental concerns or who have limited awareness/experience of climate issues including actions/campaigns/initiatives. The Workshops will explore the theme “Global Solidarity to Local Action”.

  • Wednesday 12 July: Saheli Hub 11.30am – 2.30pm
  • Saturday 15 July 2.30 – 5.30pm: Al Abbas Islamic Centre – Syeda Zainab Building (entrance on Runcorn Rd)

Refreshments are included for both workshops.

Travel

Please try not to travel by car to the events. If you can, please use public transport – for zerocarbonhouse and Al Abbas Islamic Centre, the number 50 bus stops at junction with Clifton Rd on Moseley Rd/A435, 20 mins ride out of Birmingham City Centre; for Saheli Hub, the number 45 or 49 bus stops at the junction with Edward Rd on Pershore Rd/A41 – or use active transport: walk or cycle.
