Pavatex “Pavatherm Plus” would work well. https://www.pavatex.com/en/application/wall/external-wall-insulation-in-timber-construction/
It has good insulation performance but is also a low carbon material – wood fibre, not petro-chemicals.

Yes it should work well to insulate your walls behind the vertical tile-hanging. The National Trust have done this even on historic buildings. Make sure the insulation follows all the way around.
