This looks to be a very interesting house – well done! We should be doing a lot more like this, especially upgrading older houses to “zero carbon”. Nice to see pics of the workers for a change!

  3. Small is beautiful! There’s hope for the human race yet and it’s great news for Birmingham. Your new home shows you can achieve great things deep in the city which I’ve always preferred to suburbs. We live in Handsworth. May many more be able to follow this example (Housing Associations and developers take note) and may you have many happy visitors and good neighbours. Where are the nearest allotments by the way and where do you store your bicycles? (:))

Hi I had great fun playing in your new house with you the other day especially with the skateboard…I think your house is great from Alfiex

Absolutely amazing, this has completely blown my mind! Seeing what you have achieved whilst maintaining the original red brick features is just incredible. Really wow, these kinds of renovations/alterations to existing buildings and design/constructing them to such a demanding spec is just beyond belief, it has definately sparked an interest within me to try to direct my career down an eco-friendly route.

Truely what an accomplishment, big cudos i hope you enjoy living there!

How on earth did you get planning permission?

The usual ‘to match existing’ and ‘fit in with local character’ can hardly be said to apply.

    Please, please tell us all.
